Problem mit ifplugd

Hallo!
Ich habe Probleme mit der Kombination ifplugd und guessnet auf Etch.
Eigentlich ist nur ifplugd das Problem, guessnet funktioniert.
In meinem Notebook werden folgende Interfaces erkannt:
eth0 rtl8169
eth1 firewire
eth2 ipw2200
Dabei will ich nur eth0 und eth2. eth1 brauch ich nicht.
Mit eth0 funktioniert alles wunderbar. Sobald ich ein Kabel einstecke, konfiguriert
sich das Netzwerk. Ich nutz aber meistens eth2 zu Hause. Das WLAN ist auch
aussen am Notebook über einen Schalter abschaltbar.
Beim Booten ohne Netzwerkkabel ist auch das WLAN tot. ein ifup eth2 konfiguriert es
dann aber. ifplugd scheint es nicht zu beachten.
Hier meine /etc/default/ifplugd:

Das Problem ist, dass ifplugd anscheinend kein ifup eth2 ausführt.
Kann mir jemand helfen?

Ein mii-tool -w ergibt:
SIOCGMIIPHY on 'eth0' failed: Operation not supported
SIOCGMIIPHY on 'eth1' failed: Operation not supported
SIOCGMIIPHY on 'eth2' failed: Operation not supported
no MII interfaces found
Hab ich da überhaupt eine Chance? Komisch ist nur, dass es mit eth0 funktioniert,
obwohl da auch eine fehlende MII-Unterstützung angezeigt wird.
