ich habe bereits die Forensuche und Google bemüht, jedoch half mir das nicht weiter.
Mein Problem ist, dass ich einen kleinen Server hier stehen habe der nun auch als Printserver fungieren soll. Deshalb habe ich cups installiert.
Da ich einen HP-Drucker habe, wollte ich nun "hpijs" installieren, den allgemeinen Treiber für HP-Drucker.
Doch dieser wollte zwingend Xfree mitinstallieren. Weils aber nunmal ein Server ist, will ich Xfree nicht installieren.
Daraufhin habe ich hpijs aus den Quellen gebaut und alles verlief korrekt. Bloß konnte ich nicht drucken (Drucker war korrekt eingerichtet etc.). Ich denke mal, dass es daran liegt, dass mir foomatic fehlt.
Doch wenn ich foomatic-bin installiert will, verlangt dieser ebenfalls Xfree
Nun meine Frage: Wie kann ich foomatic installieren, ohne dabei Xfree mitzuinstallieren?

Früher konnte man gs als Filter im /etc/printcap angeben
