Ich stehe total auf dem Schlauch. Wenn ich cat /etc/samba/smb.conf eingebe, dann kommt nichts.

Was kann das sein?

[uname]

Könnte vielleicht ganz am Anfang ein Steuerzeichen enthalten sein, welches die Ausgabe beendet. Kannst du die Datei mit einem Editor (z.B. vim) anschauen?

Unter vim kann ich die Datei vollständig öffnen und bearbeiten.

Hätte länger sein müssen, oder ist es nur ein Ausschnitt. Kann dort leider auch nicht weiterhelfen.

Du solltest die Datei besser so anschauen:

Das ist der Standard-Anfang der smb.conf. Bei dir sieht das etwas anders aus - warum? (5b ?)
