Grub2 / Grub-pc als stabiler Ersatz für lilo

Hallo,

ich nutze immernoch lilo auf meinem Testing-Desktop (weil es damals das Problem bei Grub mit xfs auf dem Root-Dateisystem gab) und könnte jetzt ja zu Grub wechseln. Aber ich könnte ja auch direkt Grub2 nehmen (http://packages.debian.org/lenny/grub-pc). Immerhin ist es in Lenny und von experimental steht da auch nichts mehr. Auf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_GRUB steht aber: "As of February 2008, GRUB 2 is still in development, is not ready for production use, and is not documented." Ist das wirklich so? Was habt ihr für Erfahrungen?

Also ich war auch mal neugierig und hab grub2 probiert, hatte aber doch einige Probleme, das installierte Windows wurde nicht gestartet, konnte auch nicht auf die schnelle rausfinden wo das Problem lag. Hab dann wieder das 'Ur'-Grub genommen und das rennt ja gut!

Ich habe grub2 (grub-pc) ebenfalls mal testweise installiert.
Leider bekomme ich es ums Ver...en nicht hin das er mir ein splash/background anzeigt. Ich habe nur das allseits bekannte Text-Interface. Da bleibe ich dann doch lieber bei grub-gfxboot.

Ansonsten hat er aber anstandslos installiert und auch funktioniert.
