Leider startet die Gnome Shell nur im fallback Modus, Ursache dürfte diese Meldung in der .xsession-errors sein:

afair funktioniert es mit Wheezy. Ist libgl1-mesa-dri installiert? (edit: aber natürlich nur mit dem neueren Kernel aus den backports, aber danach hat niemand gefragt)

(die tatsächliche Ursache für die fehlende 3d-Unterstützung findet sich wahrscheinlich in /var/log/Xorg.0.log)

Das glaube ich nicht, Tim.
Für Haswell brauchts neben einem aktuellen Kernel auch aktuelles DRM, DRI und DDX.

Auf dem Gerät war ursprünglich Ubuntu 12.04 mit Unity installiert, gut möglich das hier auch das 3D gefehlet hat.

Mit Jessie läuft das Gerät, ich wollte das vor dem Freeze von Jessie verhindern.
Etwas Bauchweh macht mir das, mal sehen wie gut das läuft, das Gerät reist um die Welt.

Etwas Bauchweh macht mir das, mal sehen wie gut das läuft, das Gerät reist um die Welt.

Habe hier auch ein Notebook (i7) mit Haswell als Arbeitspferd am laufen - mit Jessie (und xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.21.15-2+b2) problemlos, mit wheezy hatte ich (neben etlichen anderen Fehlern) ebenfalls kein Glück mit den Grafiktreibern. Nach viel Backports-, Testingpakete- und Fremdquellen-gefrickel hab ich dann einfach Jessie installiert, da lief alles (bis auf WLAN) out-of-the-box. Für WLAN musste ich nur die Firmware bei der Installation nachladen...

Jessie ist mittlerweile im Alltagsbetrieb absolut unproblematisch - als die systemd-Pakete das System invasiert haben gabs etwas Schluckauf (verwaiste fstab-Einträge, daran zerschellt systemd...), bei einer Neuinstallation wirst du davon aber nichts mitbekommen.

Ein reines Testing ist IMHO die bessere Wahl als ein zusammengeschustertes System aus stable + backports + paar testing-Pakete + Fremdquellen... das geht eher früher als später kaputt.
