ich habe die ganze Nacht über gelesen und mich weiter in die Materie eingearbeitet.

Da habe ich seit der Installation nichts geändert.

Habe probiert, das Power Management für sdc abzuschalten. Gnome Desktop friert noch immer ein, wenn ich größere Datenmengen auf die Debian Platte kopiere. Komischerweise friert der Gnome-Desktop nicht ein, wenn ich von der Debian System-Platte auf eine externe USB-Platte oder einen Compact-Flash oder die interne NTFS-Platte größere Datenmengen kopiere. Das Problem scheint nur aufzutreten, wenn größere Datenmengen auf die Debian-Platte geschrieben werden. Lesen von sdc also kein Problem, schreiben auf sdc schon!
