[gelöst] Kein Wlan auf IBM X41 mit Jessie

Hi @ all,

ich hab hier auf nem alten IBM X41 eine Jessie KDE drauf und bekomm keine Wlanverbindung zustande.

Die Karte:

Überhaupt ist der Netzwerkmanager komisch unterwegs, angeblich hab ich auch keine Lan-Verbindung, aber ich schreibe ja gerade auf der Maschine.

Und was ich auch (noch) nicht verstehe, ist z.B.folgendes:

Wenn ich das Lan-Kabel abziehe und wieder einstöple, dann ist die Verbindung übrigens auch weg, bzw., wird nicht wieder aufgebaut.

Bin etwas ratlos und Laptop ohne Wlan ist langweilig/macht keinen Spaß :cry:

(rfkill ist aber installiert)
Probiers mal als root oder /usr/sbin/rfkill

Eventuell wurde das vom Installer in der /etc/network/interfaces eingetragen und wird von network manager ignoriert.

Debianwireless-tools. Vermutlich ist bei dir aber der Nachfolger Debianiw installiert, da die "Wireless Extentions" im Kernel welche durch die wireless-tools bedient werden nur noch aus Kompatibilitätsgründen existieren.

Wie muß ich unter Debian bei solchen Sachen suchen, welche Suchkriterien machen da Sinn?

Sorry, wenn ich so "blöd" frage, aber ich bin Probleme in der Art nicht gewohnt - hab noch ein T410, auch mit Testing - da funktioniert einfach alles und das seit vielen Monaten 8)

Wie muß ich unter Debian bei solchen Sachen suchen, welche Suchkriterien machen da Sinn?
packages.debian.org. apt-cache search, apt-file,… Wenn es um fehlende firmware geht sollte der Treiber dir im dmesg sagen dass (und idr. auch welche) firmware ihm fehlt.

Hmmm, ok - stimmt, sind alles Dinge, die mir beim Mitlesen in anderen Threads schon des öfteren begegnet sind.

Aber gut, wenn man eigentlich so gut wie nie selber Problemchen hat, dann kommt man sich dann im Fall der Fälle manchmal vor, wie der "Depp vom Dienst" :) und es fällt einem dann auf die Schnelle oft nicht ein, wo man anfangen soll mit der Suche.

Jedenfalls, @ catdog2, nochmals Danke für die schnelle und kompetente Hilfe :D
