ich habe hier ein thinkpad R50e mit einer Intel 852GM/855GM gfx karte und bekomme es einfach nicht hin, den richtigen treiber daür zu installieren. in meiner xorg.conf habe ich den intel treiber eingetragen, allerdings sagen mir die glxgears, das meine frame rate ziemlich mieß ist und meine logdatei der xorg, sagt das hier:

ich bekomme DRI einfach nicht eingeschaltet. kennt jemand den grund? fehlt mir noch irgendwas? ich nutze debian squeeze mit dem 2.6.38 kernel.

leider genau das gleiche. den htm kernel hatte ich selber gebaut, allerdings mit der .config von squeeze.

hast du ne ahnung, was das heißen soll? ich meine ich habe schon mal xorg.conf für ein R50e gesucht ( ist mein notebook ). die haben ja alle was anderes da drin stehen. hatte vieles getestet, aber kein erfolg.

Es gibt die Optionen "NoAccel" und "DRI", welche im Standard die Beschleunigung versuchen.
Eventuell geht das bei Deiner Grafik halt nicht?

hmmm, ja breche mir immer nochn arsch damit :( habe so viel danach gegooglet und das scheint echt alles schwierig zu sein. ich dachte immer mit alten intel sachen, sei man auf der sicheren seite.
das hier habe ich gefunden:

Das stand ja im ersten Satz, ich habe dabei auch an ein anderes (gebrauchtes) Notebook gedacht.

ich dachte immer mit alten intel sachen, sei man auf der sicheren seite.
Ja, das ist eigentlich schade wieviele Probleme mensch mit den intel-Sachen haben kann.
Das kann aber auch an den Implementierungen liegen?
Oder an der Unübersichtlichkeit der Chipsätze?

Zum Vergleich, ist die entsprechende Funktionalität unter einer parallelen Win-Installation gegeben?
Oder eine andere Distribution? debian testing / sid, knoppix , grml, fedora, opensuse, ubuntu?

so weit ich gelesen habe, steht der treiber auf der blackliste, aber nicht bei den modulen, sondern irgendwo beim autoload, weil er wohl buggy ist ( warum auch immer ). man man man. sonst würde ich ja lenny nehmen wenns damit funtzt, muß mir halt nur vieles selber bauen.

EDIT: fragt sich nur, ob auch die andere hardware dann rennt.

ich habe dann mal ubuntu lucy installiert und das launchpad von glasen installiert und siehe da, funtzt :( grrrrrrr, ich bin jetzt nicht der ubuntu freak, aber immer hin noch besser als windows.
Das 'modeset=1' kommt aus der bei mir unveränderten modprobe.d/i915-kms.conf.
Das mal versuchsweise zu ändern habe ich schon vorgeschlagen.
das bringt erst was wenn du den patch installiert hast, an sonsten bekommste nen xorg-fehler ( no screens found ). nach dem ubuntu patch sieht die die /var/log/Xorg.0.log:

obwohl ich das alles lieber unter debian hätte.

bei der installation von lucid gabs keine probleme ( habe die alternate genommen ), dann aber beim booten zum grafischen modus, blackscreen. rettungs-console an, dann in /etc/default/grub:

das ppa für den patch ( kernel module ), xorg auf 16bit runter gestellt und bums, volle power.

ich kann zwar nen debian kernel bauen, allerdings irgendwas zu patchen, kann ich leider nicht. wird zu 50% auch mein fehler sein. der treiber ist auf der blacklist, weil er eben buggy ist ( kann ich bis jetzt nicht behaupten ).
