ich krieg´ hier noch die Krise

Beim Versuch 64studio (eine erweiterte etch-Distro) auf meinem Rechner zu installieren bekomme ich das altbekannte Problem, daß er zwar den Installer startet, aber nicht in der Lage ist das CD-ROM-LW zu mounten. Ein wenig befremdlich, denn eine recht aktuelle ubuntu (9.10) Installation ging ohne Probleme von statten - und ubuntu ist ja schließlich auch debian-basiert, however ...
Nachdem ich alle verfügbaren Tips aus dem Netz bzgl. BIOS-Einstellungen zu SATA/IDE/AHCI ausprobiert habe, würde ich jetzt gerne versuchen mit modprobe während der Installationen einen CD-ROM Treiber explizit zu laden (als Auswahl bekomme ich zur Zeit nur "none" und "cdrom" angezeigt - überflüssig zu erwähnen, daß beide nicht funktionieren).
Allerdings habe ich überhaupt keinen Plan von dem ganzen "modeprobe-Geraffel", insbesondere wüßte ich gar nicht wie denn so ein Treiber heißen soll, wo ich den herbekomme, wie ich den richtigen herausfinden kann.
Kann mir da vielleicht jemand helfen?
Ich habe hier ein NEC-DVD ROM (IDE, master) sowie ein OPTIARC DVD-RW (IDE, slave) am einzigen IDE-Port meines ASrock P45X3 Deluxe angeschlossen. Beide LWs haben auch in der Vergangenheit (mit ubuntu 8.04 ff. und Win-XP) nie irgendwelche Probleme bereitet, allerdings war´s früher ein anderes Mainboard -> also ist der Boardwechsel offensichtlich ein Teil der Ursache. Die Distro-DVD ist OK, auf meinem Thinkpad fluppt alles soweit. Außerdem gibt es zwei HITACHI- und eine SAMSUNG-SATA-Disks.
Wenn noch weitere Info´s benötigt werden, kann ich die gerne liefern. Ich hänge schonmal die Ausgabe von dmesg aus meinem ubuntu 10.04 an, vielleicht hilfts ja schon mal ein bischen. Wie ich allerdings die logs oder config-files aus dem Installationssystem speichern kann ist mir ein Rätsel ... sollte ja vielleicht über einen USB-Stick gehen, oder?
