ifconfig overruns

hi

ich schon seit einer weile overruns unter ifconfig auf meinem server.
ich habe ein wenig probiert auch das standart system des hosters oder auch vom das rescue selbst, eben falls habe ich mir auch ein paar kernel selbst kompiliert und da zum laufen bekommen. selbst die aktuelle stable bringt mir overruns unter ifconfig.
Also wenn ich jetzt ehrlich bin fehlt mir ein wenig das latein um den fehler zu finden. Der hoster meinte es läge am Kernel aber wie gesagt ich habe nun wirklich nicht mehr wirklich die spur .

Kannst Du dein Netzwerk ein bisschen mehr beschreiben? Ich nehme an Du hast DSL über pppoe. Und deine Packete sind zu groß. In /etc/ppp/peers/dsl-provider stehen deine Einstellungen zu deiner DSL-Verbindung dort kannst du die MTU (Maximum Transfer Unit) einstellen. Frag mal bei deinem Provider nach welche MTU Du einstellen sollst. Bei Arcor nutze ich 1492.
