dongle probing not supported

Beitrag von Longshengs » 22.07.2009 23:15:11

Hallo!

via-ircc: dongle probing not supported, please specify dongle_id module parameter.

Wie kann ich diese Fehlermeldung beseitigen? Hier die gesamte dmesg:

Re: dongle probing not supported

Beitrag von habakug » 23.07.2009 00:15:33

Hallo!

Die Meldung kommt vom via-ircc-Modul [1]:

Code: Alles auswählen

 * Function via_ircc_read_dongle_id (void)
*
*/
static int via_ircc_read_dongle_id(int iobase)
{
         int dongle_id = 9;      /* Default to IBM */
        IRDA_ERROR("via-ircc: dongle probing not supported, please specify dongle_id module parameter.\n");
        return dongle_id;
}
Das Modul bedient einen Chip auf deinem Motherboard.
VIA VT8231/VT1211 SIR/MIR/FIR
Say Y here if you want to build support for the VIA VT8231
and VIA VT1211 IrDA controllers, found on the motherboards using
those VIA chipsets. To use this controller, you will need
to plug a specific 5 pins FIR IrDA dongle in the specific
motherboard connector. The driver provides support for SIR, MIR
and FIR (4Mbps) speeds.

You will need to specify the 'dongle_id' module parameter to
indicate the FIR dongle attached to the controller.
Du brauchst also einen "specific 5 pins FIR IrDA dongle", dessen ID du dem Modul übergibst. Hast du keinen, kannst du die Meldung ignorieren ;-)

Gruß, habakug

Ah..Ok vielen Dank dir! :-) Vor allem für die schnelle Antwort. Dachte nur, man kann die Meldung ausblenden oder derartiges. Damit der Server n bisschen schneller bootet ;-) Aber ok. Ist auch so schnell genug *g*
