kriege etch 4.8 auf samsung R510 nicht drauf! hilfe!

vorhin kaufte ich mir ein samsung R510 notebook. nun gleich die debian etch 4.8 cd rein und ab geht es. dachte ich. die installation will dann jedoch nicht das laufwerk erkennen....... ich weiß nicht was los ist.
was könnte los sein? was muss ich machen?

Der kernel "kernel-image-2.6.18-6-486-di 1.44etch3 i386" kann nicht mit dem chipsatz umgehen?

Im BIOS von AHCI auf generisch/IDE umstellen?
dann kann vielleicht generic/ide-generic/ata-generic darauf zugreifen?

Später den etchnhalf-Kernel 2.6.24 installieren.

Die aktuelle Stable ist Lenny, da sollte der Kernel eher mit dem Notebook umgehen können.

so, nach der reise ein weiterer bericht. die installation mit lenny hat am ende funktioniert. jedoch gibt es weiterhin das problem mit dem netzwerk ( im bios ist die netzwerkkarte auf "enabeld" ) und der desktopumgebung:

1. an dem punkt "netzwerkhardware erkennen und einrichten" während der installation wird nur die wlan karte als wlan0 erkannt. in diesem fall ist das die:

kein netzwerk.. nichts was ist zu tun?

immerhin habe ich nochmals eine istallation probiert mit einer dvd. da konnte ich wenigstens eine desktopumgebung installieren, auch wenn die tastatur unter kde oder gnome verrückt spielt und die xorg.conf leer ist.

WLAN-Interface ist da, wartet eigentlich nur darauf, konfiguriert zu werden.
ath5k wurde also geladen.


Wegen des marvell,
das interface wird nicht erstelllt, aber das Modul ist geladen ? -> 'lsmod'
Gibt dmesg etwas aus, wenn sky2 geladen wird? oder /var/log/syslog oder /var/log/messages?

Ich habe es hier so verstanden, das es um die Installation geht (debian-installer). Das auf der KDE-CD kein KDE drauf ist, wurde hier im Forum schon berichtet.
Zu der Marvell-Karte gibt es einen Bug-Report [1] für den sich seit Monaten aber niemand interessiert:

The setup program correctly detects the ethernet controller "Marvell
Technology Group Ltd. 88E8055 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 14)"
and claims to have finished setting it up, but then interrupts the setup
procedure saying that the previous step have failed and it is impossible to
continue. The only solution I have found is to ignore this problem, setting
up the network connection and the packages repositories later.

Egal ob da die Konfiguration daneben ging,
der Treiber sollte von udev geladen werden und ein eth-Interface eintstehen.


Aber aus der Installation ein fehlerhafter Eintrag in persistent-net.rules,
der udev am Anlegen eines eth-Interfaces hindert?
Wäre ein Installer-Bug?
(Ich habe an sowas wie eth1<->eth0 gedacht)

Aber udev wird nach Verschieben der Datei dann hoffentlich eine korrekte Datei erstellen? (toi toi toi)

die logdateien geben nichts aus. ( /var/log/syslog und messeges

blöde frage, aber wie konfiguriere ich wlan nun? früher tat ich das mit ndiswrapper auf einem toshiba notebook unter etch.

Die Fehlermeldung, folgend daraus kein erstelltes Interface eth0 und kein Eintrag in der /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules zeigen, daß der sky2 in diesem Kernel wohl noch work-in-progress ist.

ZBsp mit iwconfig aus den wireless-tools, oder dem network-manager.

früher tat ich das mit ndiswrapper auf einem toshiba notebook unter etch.

ndiswrapper ist ein walkaround für nicht existierende oder nicht funktionierende linux-Treiber.
Er erstellt durch Benutzung des windows-Treibers und der in diesem enthaltenen firmware auch nur ein Interface, konfiguriert dieses aber nicht.
