ich sehe gerade es ist noch das modul RT2500 drin.
reicht da ein "modprobe -r rt2500" aus? Oder wie bekommt man die reste restlos raus?

Das ist unsicher.

Füge lieber mal in die Datei /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist folgende Zeile hinzu:

Starte dann den Rechner neu und sieh nach, ob das Modul dann nicht mehr geladen wurde.

Hm, vielleicht lädt dieses Tool aus deinem ersten Beitrag den Treiber?
Oder vielleicht liegt es an der initrd.

Du kannst auch mal alle Treiber entladen:

Und dann nur das rt2500pci-Modul laden:

Wenn das funktioniert hat, würde mich nochmal die Ausgabe von "iwlist sc" interessieren.

war mein Fehler, ich hat den eintrag rt2500 noch in /etc/module stehen.
Aber jetzt isser raus.
doch wennich jetzt boote wird die Karte zwar erkannt als wlan0 erkannt (sollte man die nicht in eth1 umbenennen)

dann hab ich mit ifconfig wla0 up gestartet, aber wicd sagt " Wählen Sie eines der Folgenden Netzwerke"
dann ist noch grau unterlegt kabelgebundes Netzwerk und sonst nix und das obwohl ich in den Einstellungen auf wla0 umgestellt habe.

Allerdings bringt ein iwlist sc

Das ist schon richtig, WLAN-Interfaces sollten eigentlich immer mit "wlan" anfangen, dass der zuvor verwendete rt2500-Treiber da eth1 verwendet hat, war eher ungewöhnlich.

Das Paket hast du doch installiert, oder?
Installiere es bitte nochmal, z.B. mit:

Und sieh dann nach, ob die Datei dann vorhanden ist.

das war so die Grundaussage, der von mir durchgeführten Google Orgie.
Aber wenn du es auch hast, soll es mir recht sein.

Ein erfolg gibt es ja, es gibt keine Fehler beim booten und wicd startet auch währen des Bootvorgangs die Wlankarte. Doch wird vom wicd-manger keine Wlan -Verbindung gefunden wird.

Dein WLAN-Interface heißt jetzt (warum auch immer) wieder eth1, hast du das bei Wicd wieder entsprechend angepasst?

Wen es interessiert, hier weiter Infos zum wmaster-Interface:

The master device wmaster0

mac80211 creates creates one master device and as many other secondary devices as requested to represent interfaces for the wireless card you have. mac80211 asks for the master device to appear as named as wmaster%d, and wlan%0 for the interfaces. udev may override the naming convention used though. wmaster%d is an internal master device used only by mac80211. It is currently visible only because it uses netdevice structure which we must allocate and use for for QoS. It also serves as a holder for all interfaces we have, and represent the underlying hardware. For example, when TXing your wlan0 STA interface will actually add IEEE-802.11 header data to a frame with just Ethernet headers, and then pass it down to the master device for actual transmission using the low level drivers.

The wlan%d devices (interfaces) are the devices you would use to configure your wireless settings.

wie find ich den heraus ob der wpasupplicant richtig gestartet ist. Ich hab nämlich mal Kwlan installiert und das hat mir gesagt, dass der wpasupplicant nicht gestartet werden könne.

Erst mal Danke an alle besonders an Danielx! Ich hab mir ein aktuelles Image von heute gesaugt- draufinstalliert.
Nachdem ich alles vorbereitet hatte, habe wicd installiert und neu gebootet, danach hat wicd sofort mein Netzwerk gefunden. Ich hab meine Daten eingegeben und war im Internet. Arbeitsaufwand ca. 2h

sieht so aus als waere das Problem schon geloest. Dennoch, hier http://sunoano.name/ws/public_xhtml/ggm ... and_debian gibt es ein nettes howto dazu wie man wpa_supplicant nutzt. Ich persoenlich halte ja auch vom network manager nichts sonder ich will bestimmen wann/wo/wie ich WiFi verwende ... der network manager macht ja im Grunde was er will, wann er will.
