load average konstant 4.00 CPU Last 0% ???

Heute hab ich bei mir zu Hause einmal einen lustigen Effekt gesehen. Die load average war nicht unter die 4.0 zu bekommen, aber kein prozess brauchte cpu last. Das kann doch nur ein Bug sein oder?

Gibt es sowas? Wie finde ich herraus wo das Problem herkommt?

Der Load ist keine Aussage darüber die viel Leistung verbraucht wird! Ist ein weit verbreitetes Irrtum...

Er gibt dir an wie voll die Schlange der Prozesse ist die laufen wollen. Hast Du viele Plattenzugriffe kann das schon vorkommen - aber wenn Du weniger als 4 Kerne hast, dann ist das nicht besonders gut

solch einen Fall hatte ich vor ein paar Tagen auch erst.
Es handelte sich dabei um einen SuSE-Server der per NFS ein entferntes Verzeichnis eingebunden hatte.

Der entferne Rechner mit der Freigabe war aus anderen Gründen nicht mehr erreichbar.
Daraufhin hatte der Server immer konstant eine Load von mindestens. 3.0.

Als der entfernte Rechner wieder lief ging die Load sofort wieder runter.

Vielleicht hast du auch ein entferntes Verzeichnis per NFS oder Samba eingebunden???

Ne ein NFS hatte ich nicht eingebunden, aber einen TrueCrypt Container. Wobei der schon 6 Tage eingebunden war.
