Warum Debian und/oder eine seiner Spielarten? Was muss ich vorher wissen? Wo geht es nach der Installation weiter?

Debian startet nur noch Shell

Hallo zusammen

Ich dachte nun sei alles in Ordnung, aber ich hab mich getäuscht.
Gestern wurde mein Problem mit den Abhängigkeiten (zu lesen hier) ja endlich aus der Welt geschafft, ich hab gestern noch lange am PC gesessen. Heute morgen will ich ihn hochfahren, da geht dann plötzlich nix mehr, am Ende des Bootens steht nur ein Login im Bootbildschirm und nach dem Login hab ich nur die shell zur Verfügung, also nix grafisches.
(Hoffe ihr versteht was ich meine).

Ich denke das beste wäre es, wenn ich erstmal die Codes auf dem Bootbildschirm hier poste, jedoch weiss ich nicht wie ich die irgendwie speichern oder auch nur scrollen kann...
Das wäre mal der erste Schritt!
Was würde der Diagnose weiterhelfen? (Es müsste ja eigentlich irgendwo an gnome fackeln)

schreibt dir die Bootmeldungen in 'datei'.

Ansonsten kannst du noch

# /etc/init.d/kdm restart probieren 
bei KDE, bzw. gdm bei Gnome. Das wäre dann ein manueller Start von x

es sieht so aus als wenn Gnome deinstalliert wurde (apt-get war der Meinung das du das nicht mehr brauchst :? )
wenn du da nicht eingeschritten bist ...
Das Gute daran du kannst Gnome natürlich wieder installieren.

Irgendsowas hab ich mir schon fast gedacht, denn beim manuell starten kannte er "gdm" als befehl gar nicht...

Hat sich eh erledigt mit der CD, ich hab vergessen dass die pppoe-Befehle noch gingen, auch wenn sich pppoe-config selbst nicht mehr starten ließ.
Hat alles wieder funktioniert und alles wieder so wies sein soll.
