WLan-Karte wie installier ich sie?

Moin,
ich bin ein relativer Linux also auch Debian Neuling und brauche mal eure Hilfe.
Bevor ich auf Debian umgestiegen bin habe ich Ubuntu genutzt. Unter Ubuntu wurde
Die Wlan-Karte in meinem Notebook immer erkannt so das ich sie nicht installieren musste.
Unter Debian ist dem leider nicht so! Und ich brauche mal eine Anleitung wie ich nun meine
Wlan-Karte installiert bekomme… wenn möglich ohne mein System zu schrotten

Daten:
Bei dem Notebook handelt es sich um ein IBM Thinkpad T43:

Was sagt denn ein lspci?

Bei sieht man dann, dass ich eine ipw2200 Karte habe.

Das T43 hat normal eine ipw2200-Karte. Sitze selber grad an einem

Zum Einrichten der Karte gibts im Web einige Seiten. Schau z.B. mal im ThinkWiki nach.
Unter Etch sollte soweit ich weis sogar schon alles dabei sein. Da musst du nur via apt-get oder aptitude die entsprechenden Pakete installieren. Neben dem ipw2200-Modul brauchst du noch den wpa-supplicant, falls du WPA-Verschlüsselung nutzen willst.

Update:

Also die Packete habe ich wie angegeben installiert alles kein Problem!
Jedoch wird mir immer noch keine WLan Karte angezeigt.
Ich kann nicht auf sie zugreifen!

Muss ich da evtl noch irgendwas konfigurieren? Habe ich etwas vergessen?

Bei einem iwconfig kommt nichts zurück bzw. wird noch immer kein wlan-device angezeigt?

Nein bei ifconfig wird genau wie vorher auch mein eth0 angezeigt also die ganz normale Netzwerkkarte

Leider findet er die Wlan Karte nicht!

Ok das habe ich getan aber auch damit bekomm ich immer noch keine Anzeige!
Die W-Lan Karte wird immer noch nicht erkannt

Langsam verzweifel ich

/etc/netwok/interfaces <- muss dort evtl was eingestellt werden?

Dort geht es zwar um eine Atheros-Karte auf einem T41, aber vielleicht geht es mit Intel ähnlich?

ich hab das mal "dick" markiert was mir spanisch vorkommt.
in /etc/network/interfaces ist nur meine netwerkkarte (eth0) eingetragen.

das ist die reine desktop/laptop grundinstallation von der heft-cd aus dem Linux Magazin. bisher hab ich noch keine anderen packete installiert.
ich bin mir auch nicht sicher, ob ich irgentwelche packete nachinstallieren soll, das es so für mich aussieht, das er die wlankarte erkannt hat.

ich wäre sehr dankbar für einige tips, wo ich ansetzen könnte!

@murdock: du hast eine recht gängige Notebook wlan-Karte. Nämlich eine ipw2200 (habe ich auch).

Benutze hier mal die Suchfunktion und eventuell google.de. Dort solltest du eine Menge zu dieser wlan-Karte finden.
Ich meine, dass es sogar einen Eintrag im Wiki zu genau dieser wlan-Karte gibt.

Solltest du trotzdem nich weiterkommen, kannst du dich ja noch mal melden.
