Hallo,
ich schaffe es nicht mit dem C2-010-I Modem, das von Hansenet mitgeliefert wird, eine pppoe Verbindung aufzubauen. (ppp 2.4.4)
Nach dem pppoe Discovery bricht die Verbindung ab und ich weiß nicht weiter.
Mit dieser Kommandozeile habe ich es versucht:
/usr/sbin/pppd nodetach pty "pppoe -I eth0 -D file_name" connect /bin/true usepeerdns ipcp-accept-remote ipcp-accept-local noipdefault defaultroute
user "stl9xxxxxx" password "cxxxxxxx" lcp-echo-failure 5 lcp-echo-interval 15 lock debug noaccomp nopcomp novj novjccomp nobsdcomp nodeflate noccp nocrtscts local noauth
Dann wenn die ppp Verbindung anfängt, bricht es mit der Fehlermeldung
"LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests." ab.
Dazu habe ich aber nach googlen und herumfragen nichts gefunden. Wie man den Debugoutput noch "geschwätziger" stellt, weiß ich nicht. Das Modem ist übrigens eigentlich ein gebridgter Router von Siemens. Und ja, die Verbindung funktioniert mit anderer Hardware (fritzbox-router).

Hallo,
pppoeconf hat mir auf die Sprünge geholfen. Es hat folgendes in die Datei /etc/ppp/dsl-provider eingetragen, die pon ausliest.
/usr/sbin/pppd noipdefault usepeerdns defaultroute hide-password lcp-echo-interval 20 lcp-echo-failure 3 connect /bin/true noauth persist mtu 1492 noaccomp default-asyncmap plugin rp-pppoe.so eth0 user "stl165***"
Zusätzlich hat es noch Daten in die Datei chapsecrets eingetragen, die vorher nicht im richtigen Format waren. Was einige der Optionen machen, konnte ich anhand der man pppd nicht ganz erschließen:
zb:
- noaccomp Disable Address/Control compression in both directions compression?
- default-asyncmap Disable asyncmap negotiation, forcing all control characters to be escaped for both the transmit and the receive direction
Wesentlich war wohl: plugin rp-pppoe.so eth0.
Mit tcpdump -s 500 -C 1 -w /tmp/tcpdump "pppoed || pppoes" und
tethereal -l -t ad -r /tmp/tcpdump oder ganz einfach etherreal und

kann man die Kommunikation en detail schön nachvollziehen.
Bei mir war es so, dass mein Client irgendwo mittendrin auf einen PPP LCP Configuration Request, keinen Gegenrequest, und auch keinen Ack gekriegt hat. Warum weiß ich nicht. (;
Übrigens -da wir schon soweit sind- hatte mir Alice 3 Stunden lang den Account gesperrt, als ich das usepeerdns flag wegließ. Das bedeutet, dass wir nicht ihre dnsserver benutzen (sie nicht danach fragen und sie auch nicht in resolv.conf eintragen) "CHAP authentication failed: Request Denied" hieß es auf einmal.
