update-grub, danach geht nix mehr @ Strato

Hi All,

ich hab bei Strato den Dedicated Server und hab docht ein einfaches

apt-get dist-upgrade zu etch gemacht.

danach direkt ein update-grub und nachm reboot fährt der server nicht mehr hoch. selbst per serConsole passiert nix mehr. Ich seh das rebootet wird aber danach ist nix mehr. Also keine Kernel Panics oder der gleichen. Hat wer eine Ahnung woran es liegen kann?

Und updatet update-grub nur die menu.list?

Danke für die infos im vorraus.

p.s. geraed gesehen, das ein software raid eingerichtet ist.

Hi und Willkommen im Forum!

Falls du gar keine shell mehr starten kannst, wenn ich dich richtig verstanden habe, lässt sich wohl nichts mehr machen außer einer kompletten Neuinstallation.

Falls du doch nach dem booten zB. über <STRG><ALT><F2> in eine shell kommst, mal sehen was

Code: Alles auswählen

dmesg

sagt. Zudem im Verzeichnis /var/log/ auf Fehlersuche gehen, vor allem in den Dateien syslog und messages.

So,

hab weiterhin Sachen getestet und es nun hinbekommen.
update-grub hat mir den Consolen Zugriff aus dem menu.list überschrieben.

Jedoch kann ich immer noch nicht mit dem Kernel aus der etch Booten. Folgender Fehler passiert dann :

Zu deinem 2. Log: da scheint was grueber faul zu sein. Der Kernel schmiert da mit einer Null Pointer Exception ab. Was da nun aber faul ist, keine Ahnung.

Hallo @ All,

ich hab heute dann nen 2.6.18er Kernel selbst Kompiliert und der Läuft ohne Probleme.
wieso der 17er nicht lief ist mir jetzt erstmal egal ;) Habtsache es läuft.
