Samba Dienst smbd wird auf einem Server nicht gestartet...

Hallo,
ich muss eine automatisierte Datensicwwwherung von unserem Vmware Server machen und ,möchte dafür Samba verwenden.
Ich habe also Samba soweit startklar und auch ein Netzlaufwerk eingerichtet.

Hier die smb.conf

user = debian
Dennoch habe ich nicht die Rechte auf dem Ordner, so wie ich sie brauche.
Ich habe ledeglich lesende Rechte und kann die ja in Windows schon mal garnicht ändern. Wie kriege ich es jetzt hin, dass ich da auch drauf schreiben darf ?

wenn du in "/" schreiben willst, musst du den user "root" verwenden.
gibt es denn keine bessere möglichkeit für ein backup?

Im übrigen ist mir gar nicht klar geworden, was du von wo wohin backuppen willst.

Schreiben möchte ich in
/var/lib/vmware/Virtual\ Machines/

Die Freigabe beläuft sich aber auf / .

Wenn ich eine Freigabe auf /home für den User debian anlege habe ich dasselbe Ergebnis.
Ich kann wiederrum nicht in dem Ordner schreiben.
Ist also wohl ein generelles Problem von Samba...

Das Konzept verstehe ich immer noch nicht. Auf /var/lib/vmware/Virtual\ Machines/ hat doch wahrscheinlich nur root Schreibrechte, und der ist in deiner config als "invalid user" eingestuft.

Ich kann wiederrum nicht in dem Ordner schreiben.
Bei mir funktioniert das, da musst du evtl dem user in der /etc/passwd noch das entpsrechende Verzeichnis zuweisen.

Wohl eher eins der richtigen Konfiguration.
