Kann keine CD-ROM mounten nach Installation

Hallo,

nach der Installation von Etch auf einem neuen Notebook, kann ich keine CD-ROM mounten.
Fehlermeldung:

mount: special device /dev/scd0 does not exist

In der fstab steht:

/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0

Habe keine scd0 und kein cdrom in /dev
/cdrom -> /media/cdrom
/media/cdrom -> /media/cdrom0

Was mache ich da jetzt? Danke.

pure vermutung:

neues notbook <---> etch

etch ist zu "alt" für dein notebook. Versuch mal sid, am besten mit einer live cd. Meiner meinung nach beste hardware und vor allem beste notebook hw erkennung : kanotix ( kanotx.com , kanotix_easter_RC4 ist die aktuellste)

Hast Du IDE oder Sata auf Deinem Notebook? Wie heist Deine Festplatte hda1 oder sda1?
Schiess bitte mal ein lspci raus.

Ich denke, es gibt auf der Maschine SATA. Das hab ich aber im BIOS disabled, weil sonst die Festplatte bei der Installation nicht gefunden wurde. (Sollte man das wieder anmachen?)

SATA im BIOS wieder aktiviert und CD-ROM ist da. Alles ok.
