Kompilieren unter AMD64 (Etch)

hallo

Hab noch so meine Problemchen mit Etch auf einem HP DL385 Proliant mit AMD64 Semperon CPU. Verwende den generischen Etch AMD64 Kernel.

Ich moechte jsvc kompilieren (ein Tomcat Werkzeug). Leider schlägt das kompilieren fehl:

configure:1303: error: /bin/sh ./support/config.sub x86_amd64 failed

ist das Hauptproblem. In der config.sub finde ich im File nirgends was über amd64 (allerdings schon x86_64...). Ich kann allerdings config.sub auch nicht wirklich interpretieren..

Hat mir jemand einen Tipp was das Problem sein könnte? Kann ich sonst im notfall jsvc auch als 32-bit binary kompilieren...wie ginge denn das?

Vielleicht ein Tip: Ich hatte bisher immer das Problem "compiler cannot create executables", wenn das Paket "cpp" fehlte. Mach also vielleicht einfach nochmal ein "apt-get install --reinstall gcc g++ cpp".
