2.6.10 er mit alter .config ???

Hallo Debianer,

habe gerade versucht einen 2.6.10 'er Kernel mit einer 2.4.25 'er .config zu kompilieren,
es scheint sich doch einiges geändert zu haben ( siehe printout )...... gibt es eine Möglichkeit die "alte" .config zu übersetzen oder muss ich alles neu einstellen.

Hab im Forum leider nichts dazu gefunden

make oldconfig
oder
make menuconfig
und "Load an Alternate Configuration File" auswählen

Wüde ich jetzt aber eher nicht machen (also oldconfig oder menuconfig und dann draufloskompilieren). Besser make menuconfig und anschliessend alle Optionen durchgehen. Da hat sich extrem viel geändert und mit menuconfig kannst du auch die Hilfetexte dazu angucken.

make oldconfig ist sehr nützlich wenn du z.B. von 2.6.9 nach 2.6.10 wechselst - da werden dir nur noch die neuen Optionen abgefragt die hinzugekommen sind. Allerdings ohne jedwelchen Kommentar, da steht dann also nur der Name der Option und du musst wissen/raten was die tut.

Oldconfig würde ich auch nur innerhalb einer Kernelreihe nehmen.
Da ändert sich so viel in den Reihen das man nur Streß hat wenn man die Config übernehmen will.
