debian bleibt hängen mit 2.6.8 er kernel

Was kann das sein wenn Debian sich dermasen aufhängt, dass nichtmal mehr ein wechsel in eine console geht ? Das ganze passiert so ca nach 15 minuten laufzeit. Der 2.4.27 standart von der install läuft stabil (aber ohne acpi :-( )

Das Problem tritt nur mit meinem selfbacked 2.6.8er kernel (sources per apt) auf dem hab ich die conf eines apt kernel-image2.6.8-2-i386 verpasst, per oldconfig und dann ein paar unbedeutende änderungen eingebaut wie netzwerkkarte eincompiliert, da sie als module nicht will und ein wenig hardware raus die ich definitiv nicht auf meinem laptop
(asus a4 AMD 3000+ 64Bit ) habe.

was kann das sein ?

Mal so ne frage, kann das sein, dass es an dem modul für die gk liegt eine ati 9700 ?
Hab da so nen dunklen verdacht, den ich mangels technischem wissen nicht näher begründen kann.
Mal schaun ob der kernel noch einfriert wenn vesa verwende

Mal ne Frage? Was hast du als Prozessortyp angegeben? Nen Athlon64? Hab nämlich genau das gleiche Asusnotebook! Bei mir hat am Anfang auch fast nichts funktioniert! Wollte nämlich nen 64bit Kernel! Hatte damit nur Probleme! Jetzt hab ich als Prozessor nen Athlon XP angegeben, und alles geht!
