Neu aufgesetzter Rechner stürzt aus unerklärlichen Gründen ab

Hallo liebes Forum,

Wie die Überschrift schon sagt, stürzt meine Kiste aus unerklärlichen Gründen ab. Sie geht einfach aus und startet neu. Mittlerweile kann ich den Absturz provozieren, indem ich größere Datenmengen via rsync über ssh auf die Kiste spiele. Wer kann mir bei der Fehlersuche helfen? Temperatur habe ich mittels Sensors gecheckt und sie ist ok. Die beiden anderen Systeme laufen stabil (macOS 15.3 und Windows 11) Besten Dank im Voraus.

CPU: i7-14700k
GPU: amd radeon rx 6900
RAM: 2x32GB DDR 5 5200erter
System: Debian 12

Das letzte Mal, als ich so ähnliche Probleme hatte, war das RAM schuld.

Eine Memorytest kann also nicht schaden. Bei meiner Kiste hat der allerdings nichts angezeigt. Seit dem Austausch des RAM ist meine Kiste allerdings wieder ohne Abstürze und Reboots.

Auch das Übertakten vom Hauptspeicher kann zu solchen Problemen führen. Also auch hier mal schauen, ob das RAM zu hoch getaktet ist.

Der Bookworm-Kernel ist möglicherweise zu alt für die CPU und/oder GPU. Installiere mal Kernel und Grafik-Firmware aus den Backports!

Weil das unnötige Arbeit ist, ein praktisch fertiges Release nicht zu nutzen, und
stattdessen auf ein veraltetes System zu bauen und das mit den Backports "aufzupeppen".
Es sind ja nicht nur die Paar Treiber und ein Kernel. Alles andere ist ja auch aktueller.

Es ist also mehr Arbeit, unter Stable zwei Pakete zu installieren, als auf das "Moving Target" Testing umzusteigen, und dort dann alle bis zum Release auftretenden Unwägbarkeiten mitzumachen? Wenn die Begründung stichhaltig wäre, dann gäbe es keine Backports.

interessante Diskussion bezüglich Backports vs Testing. Ich habe auch schon mal überlegt Testing zu probieren, habe mich aber für stable entschieden, weil ich dachte das läuft auch stabil . Da ja niemand eine Glaskugel hat, habe ich noch mal alle Logs gelöscht, einen Absturz provoziert und die neuen logs in *txt geschrieben. Wie kann ich die anhängen? erst mal via copy paste

Hmm, da sind also DDR5-Riegel drin, die mit 4800MT/s arbeiten sollten, sie werden aber mit 5600MT/s betrieben. Für mich sieht das nach übertaktetem RAM aus, und der kann schonmal ins Stolpern kommen.

Die 5600 musste man auch erst im bios (uefi) freischalten.

The SPDs are programmed to JEDEC standard latency DDR5-4800 timing of 40-39-39 at 1.1V.

Kingston sagt aber, daß man die Module übertaktet betreiben kann:
Each module has been tested to run at DDR5-5600 at a low latency timing of 40-40-40 at 1.25V

Vor allem muß man dazu die Spannung auf 1.25V erhöhen, du hast aber 1.1V eingestellt. Die Latenzen muß man dazu auch etwas länger einstellen.

Ich würde das nicht machen. Das erhöht nur den Stromverbrauch der RAM-Riegel um 50% und somit auch die Wärmeentwicklung der RAM-Riegel, die werden also deutlich wärmer oder sogar zu heiß. Der Geschwindigkeitsvorteil ist ohnehin reichlich homöopathisch. Dein Rechner wird dadurch insgesamt um vielleicht 1.5% schneller.

Es wäre zu schön gewesen. Leider lag es nicht an den falschen Speichereinstellungen. Ich habe die Defaulteinstellungen gewählt und die Kiste schmiert weiterhin ab. Die Partnummer des Speichers lässt sich jedoch nicht ändern. Ich bin offen für weitere Vorschläge. Liebe Grüße Emu
