Hallo Forum,
ich habe eine externe Festplatte (HDD 1TB), die ich für Backups verwende. Wenn ich sie aushänge, erhalte ich die folgende Fehlermeldung:

Kann mir bitte jemand helfen, das Log zu verstehen? Ich sehe keine Fehler.
Glaubt ihr, dass die Festplatte defekt ist?

Du erhältst die Meldung schon beim Aushängen (umount), nicht erst beim Abziehen des USB-Steckers? Das würde auf einen Hardware- bzw. Firmwarefehler irgendwo zwischen USB-Host-Controller deines Mainboards, und der HDD im USB-Gehäuse selbst hindeuten.
Siehst du das gleiche Problem an verschiedenen USB-Ports? Insbesondere, falls du normalerweise Front-USB-Ports eines Desktop-PCs nutzt, dann probier mal einen der hinteren Ports direkt auf dem Mainboard!

Hast du andere Rechner und USB-Gehäuse für die HDD für Kreuztests? Wenn die Meldung nur beim Aushängen kommt und nicht mitten im Betrieb, dann würde ich auf einen spinnenden Controller des externen HDD-Gehäuses hoffen.

Das Problem tritt auch auf, wenn ich den USB-Anschluss wechsle und mit einem anderen Laptop.

Aber ich konnte durch Beobachtung mit dem Befehl „journalctl -f“ mit Sicherheit feststellen, dass ich die Warnung erhalte, beim Abziehen des USB-Steckers, nach dem Befehl „umount /mnt/usb“.

Die Festplatte hat ein Gehäuse, das ich extra gekauft und selbst eingebaut habe. Aber jetzt habe ich festgestellt, dass eine zweite Festplatte, mit dem gleichen Markengehäuse, das gleiche Problem hat. Was soll ich tun?

machen und schauen, ob das Problem noch auftritt?

Falls du ein USB-Verlängerungskabel hast, oder ein anderes Kabel das zur HDD passt, dann könntest du auch das probieren.

Doch, der Befehl funktioniert. Die Fehlermeldung bedeutet nur, daß das Gerät nicht ausgeworfen werden konnte. Dem USB-Anschluß fehlt schließlich die mechanische Vorrichtung, den Stecker aus der Steckdose zu drücken.

Richtig, es hat funktioniert, ( ) aber nichts an der Situation geändert, denn die Fehlermeldung ist wieder
erschienen.
