Habe nochmal mit einem anderen Kabel und an einem anderen USB3 Anschluss getestet, aber ändert nichts am Status quo.

Darf ich deine Antwort dahingehend interpretieren, dass der beschriebene Fehler bei einer neuen Festplatte schon mal vorkommen kann, und man durch entsprechende Tests evtl. bestätigen kann, dass das Gerät in Ordnung ist?
Oder sollte ich das Teil lieber eintüten und zurückschicken?
