hm, das mit dem KDE-Login Splash, ist klar ! , .... der Link hat aber nichts damit zu tun !?

...ja, English kann ich gut, wollte eine einfache Beschreibung für Debian und BootSplash .

Hmm, dann hat das Bild aber überhaupt nichts damit zu tun. Das ist nur für KDE.

Willst du ein Bild für das lilo Menü? Dann such hier im Forum, das haben wir schon besprochen, sogar mit vielen Beispielbildern.
Oder willst du den gesamten Bootvorgang graphisch haben? Dann gugst du hier [1], damit hab ich jedoch keine Erfahrungen.

wer es auch mal testen möchte " Debian mit LiLo BootSplash ", übrigens gibt es schöne

...ausser der Progress Bar, läuft es sehr gut !

Du musst die Bilder in ein Verzeichnis kopieren und das ganze in der lilo.conf eintragen:

Bei mir ist das Verzeichnis /usr/share/debian-bootscreens/ und die Auflösung 1024x768

Als ich Woody auf Sarge geupdatet hab, hat er mir das sogar defaultmässig draufgeschmissen. =) Allerdings dachte ich immer, daß lilo vor dem framebuffer drankommt und daß deshalb nur 640x480 geht.
Man lernt nie aus... =)

unterscheiben würde ich das nicht mit den 1024x768, vielleicht verwechsele ich das auch mit etwas anderem.

Das ist kein Lilo-bootsplash, sondern ein Linux-bootsplash. Anstatt den Benutzer mit Meldungen zu "verwirren" wird, ganz Apple- und Microsoft-like, ein buntes Bildchen incl. Fortschrittsbalken angezeigt.

Bootsplash-support für debian ist noch in der Anfangsphase, aber es gibt schon Pakete dafür:

in die sources.list

Code: Alles auswählen

deb http://mentors.debian,net unstable main contrib non-free

eintragen (wohlgemerkt, es geht nur für unstable/sid)
Dann muss noch der kernel gepacht werden

Ist alles etwas aufwendig, aber es funktioniert schon einigermassen.

Wer jedoch noch nie einen Kernel nach Debianart gebaut hat, sollte besser die finger davon lassen.

(BTW: Die Patches werden mittels der make-kpkg option "--added-patches bootsplash" miteinkompiliert)

Ich patche den Kernel auf die altmodische ! " patch -p1 < bootsplash-3.1.3-2.6.0-test9.diff "

Auf DebianArt sollte man vorher " export PATCH_THE_KERNEL=YES " setzen !

Und mit den .debs from http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main contrib non-free

funktioniert es wunderbar !

teste regelmäßig neue Kernel und möchte natürlich auch weiterhin schönes BootLogo !

Nur bis 2.6.2 hat der Patch auch wunderbar funktioniert !
